Trading Earthly Treasures for True Wealth
It's Time We All Get Back To God, Before It's Too Late.
There were two classes of charitable people: one, the people who did a little and made a great deal of noise; the other, the people who did a great deal and made no noise at all.
β Charles Dickens
Too often, we take whatβs given to us for granted. We indulge beyond our means and can no longer provide for our necessities.
Debt increases to the point of bankruptcy. Car payments stack month after month until itβs repossessed. Credit cards maxed out. Letters of foreclosure plague our mailbox. Weβve become slaves to Satan as we sold our souls for earthly treasures. Weβve exchanged a lie for the truth.Β
Whatever I want, I get because I can afford it with credit.
Weβre all guilty of acquiring things we canβt afford. Instead of helping those less fortunate, we give more and more to ourselves. Everything given by the grace of God, we squandered. Our bank accounts zeroed out. Food, nowhere seen as the fridge lies empty. Recklessness overcame. We ignored our Father, who art in heaven, and lived for ourselves and no one else.Β
Then, guilt kicks in.Β
We canβt sleep. Stress keeps us awake. Agony overcomes every inch of our being. Our hearts turn to coal, as black as the night sky with no stars or moon to guide the way. We blame God for what weβve done. Itβs all His fault for the mess we placed ourselves. Then, we brake. Tears flood our souls. And if our eyes open from slumber, we repent. We ask God to help us return to the light. To do whatβs right in his eyes, not ours.Β
If not, hell rains down. The Creator only lets us wander so far before the rod breaks our backsides. Sometimes the trials seem harsh. But when a father loves their children, they correct their bad behavior.Β
We then pray with our eyes open.
βGod, please forgive me for my selfish ways. If it be your will show me the narrow path. Β Give me a heart of happiness as I give to those in need out of love and not obligation.β
Then, out of the blue, an opportunity knocks. A person in need. What do we do? We extend our hand. We donβt boast. We keep our actions to ourselves and thank the Lord for blessing us. In return, we ask for nothing.Β
When we give from a spirit of love, it comes back tenfold. It may not be monetary, but itβll return in ways we never expected.
